The 2008 National Short Track Championships at Rockford Speedway featured plenty of action. Here Steve Rubeck (61) works to try and take the lead from Dan Lensing (18). Lots of pushing and shoving from both results in Lensing getting sideway and Rubeck taking the position from Lensing, but not the lead. See the #5 pull up behind Rubeck at the end of the clip. More on that in another video.

Steve Rubeck (61) and Brett Sontag (5) race side by side at the 2008 National Short Track Championships at Rockford Speedway. Sontag is able to capture the spot but the battle doesn’t end well for Rubeck as he winds up hitting the Big Tire and wall in turn three.

In the Super Late Model feature race at the 2008 National Short Track Championships at Rockford Speedway, Jerry Gille got loose and wound up driving across one of the billboards in between turns one and two. Gille appears to get loos heading into the first turn and the rear end of his car slides into the wall. On impact the front of his car kicks back into and up the wall, launching his ride into the billboard. Jerry was able to walk away after the wild ride.

The 2008 National Short Track Championships Super Late Model feature started off with a bang and a multi-car wreck in the third turn. Front row starters Dan Lensing and Ryan Carlson got together on the backstretch and not everyone behind them were able to check up. Terry Patnode came in to turn three, tried to stop and went over the front of Morrissey’s car into the turn three wall. This brought out a red flag.

Some cars involved included: Eddie Hoffman, Eddie May, Tom Gille, Terry Patnode, Rich Bickle Jr., Andrew Morrissey, Jerry Gille, Stevie Campbell, Matt Kocourek and M.G. Gajewski.
